PCVBA Announces Wave Rider Camps for June

Unfortunately Cedar Heights Middle School didn’t show up to unlock the school for our Wave Runner Camp on May 19th! These things happen and we are glad that we are able to use the schools, but it was still disappointing! Never fear we are running three more camps on June 9th 10th, and 16th at GRCC from 9-1p. These camps are for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

All our campers from the 19th can pick which one they would like to attend.

Cost for new attendees is $25. We will post the link here when registration is open.

Congrats to our own Coach Kayla U16-Blue

Kayla Hanus former club player for Pacific Coast VB (back in the SWVBC days) and current U16 assistant coach will sign a letter of intent and receive a scholarship with Division II – Brevard College, located in Brevard, North Carolina.  Kayla played with SWVBC from the U13 thru U18 seasons where her strong foundation of volleyball was built.  Her seasons with SWVBC were successful as the teams she played on were consistently in the top 10 of the age group.

Kayla made the tough decision to move away from home after graduating high school to play for Walla Walla Community College.  In her second season at Walla Walla she was named to 3 all tournament teams, 2nd team all league and the team placed 2nd in the championship tournament falling to Mt. Hood, where Kayla was also named to the 1st team all tournament.  After the season Kayla was then named to the AVCA All American 2nd team for Junior Colleges, where only 6 players total from the NWAACC make the 1st and 2nd team.

When you see Kayla in the gym please send her a congratulations as her years of hard work and many hours in the gym thru her club and first two years of college have paid off!!
